Well-known in the world for its wines, which range from the strong to the light ones, Italy is the second-largest wine producer in the world. With 20 regions like the Piemonte, which has very good sparkling and red wines, produces Barolo and its vine, Nebbiolo. There is also production of the Barbera, Dolcceto and other good wines. Also the Toscana region, the garden of Italy, with its popular Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino. Vines like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also present, in what is called the Super Toscano. As regards white wines, we can mention Chardonnay Trebiano and Malvasia.
The Veneto brings us the unique and wonderful wine: the Grande Amarone with its high alcohol content. Grapes like Corvina, Molinara and Rondinela are used to make red wine. The Umbria, Abruzzo, Puglia, Sicilia e Sardegna all together have a few labels, but of excellent quality. There is also Emilia-Romagna with its popular Lambrusco.
