France is the best producer of wine in the world. There is no country like France, which produces many wines of exceptional quality. France has a dozen regions of high-quality vineyards, among then Bordeaux, which is, without a doubt, the best region in France. There you can find the best Chateau, for example Chateau Petrus. Borgogne is one of the finest regions in the world for vineyards. In that region we can find two principal grapes: Chardonnay, with which the best white wines are made, and Pinot Noir, with which the best red wines, like the Romanee Conti, are made. The region of Champagne is well-known for its sparkling wine, which has the same name. Its discovery belongs to the monk Don Perignon, who realized some wines underwent another fermentation process after being bottled.
In the Sauternes region, a rare wine is produced. This is because the grape has a fungus called Boutrix Sinera, which produces a liquid with more concentration of sugar, for example Chateau D'Yquem.
There are also other different wines like Beaujulais and its grape, Gamay, Langedoc and its Shiraz grape, Alsacia and Loire with very good white wines.
