Chile Flag

In the 80s, the civil war destroyed half the wineries. In the 90s, heavy investment changed the wine yards in the country. Modern facilities helped wine production improve more and more. Chile is one of the most important wine producers in the world because it is protected by the Pacific Ocean and the Andes mountains.

The best vine in the country is the Carmenere, which is extinct in Europe, but found here in Chile. The plague Philoxera Vastrix that almost killed European vineyards didn't get to Chile. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Syrah can also be found in this wonderful country.
